With stats like these - played 28 games, hit an amazing 15 homeruns and 42 safe hits, including 19 singles, 7 doubles and 1 triple, its no wonder Stacey Porter took out the double - Best Batter and MVP at the finals night dinner following the completion of the Gilley's Shield. Whilst the tournament batting average was 0.240, Porter’s batting average was a staggering 0.560 with an on base average of 0.721.

The Firestars Sam Poole joined Stacey on the stage to receive the Rookie of the Year Award. Sam competed in 20 games, had 48 at bats and amassed 14 RBIs - not bad considering that due to injury she didn't even get on the diamond in the last round in Brisbane!

Congratulations to both Stacey and Sam on these well deserved awards.
